Manage Store Reviews

Overview

The Store Reviews section lets you collect and manage feedback about your overall store experience (not individual products). Store reviews help shoppers understand what it’s like to buy from you—based on real customer experiences.

  • Customer service
  • Product quality
  • Shipping experience
  • Overall satisfaction

You can access this section from:

Rivyo → Reviews → Store Reviews

From this page, you can:

  • View all store reviews in one place
  • Publish or unpublish reviews (moderation)
  • Reply to customer reviews
  • Feature selected reviews as testimonials
  • Share reviews on social media
  • Delete unwanted reviews
Publish only the reviews you’re comfortable showing publicly, but avoid removing all negative feedback—having a mix of reviews often looks more trustworthy to shoppers.

How Store Reviews Work

Store reviews capture feedback about the overall shopping experience with your store. The flow typically looks like this:

  1. A customer submits a store review using your Store Review widget.
  2. The review appears in your Store Reviews dashboard in Rivyo.
  3. You moderate the review (publish/unpublish), reply, and optionally feature it as a testimonial.
  4. Published reviews can appear publicly on your storefront (based on your widget/theme setup).
Store reviews are separate from product reviews. If you want feedback on specific items, use the Product Reviews section.

Add the Store Review Widget to Collect Reviews

Customers can only submit store reviews if the Store Review widget is added to your storefront.

Steps to add the widget

Go to Rivyo → Reviews → Store Reviews. Click Manage Widget. Click Open the Shopify Theme Editor (or open your Shopify theme editor and navigate to the page/section where you want the widget). In the theme editor, add the Rivyo Store Reviews block/section where you want customers to leave reviews. Click Save in the theme editor. If you don’t see the Rivyo block in the theme editor, make sure the Rivyo app is installed and that you’re editing a compatible theme section (some themes restrict which blocks can be added to certain templates).

Understanding the Store Reviews Dashboard

The Store Reviews dashboard lists every review submitted about your store. Each row/card includes key details so you can moderate quickly and respond appropriately.

What you’ll see for each review

  • Customer
The name of the customer who submitted the review.
  • Date
The date the review was submitted (or added).
  • Rating & Review
The star rating and the customer’s written feedback. If the review includes photos or videos, you’ll see a View media option.
  • Source
How the review was added. Common examples include Direct submission, CSV import, or other connected sources.
  • Status
Whether the review is visible on your storefront:
    • Published — the review can appear publicly (where your store reviews widget/testimonial display is enabled).
    • Unpublished — the review is hidden from shoppers and only visible to you in Rivyo.
Use Unpublished for moderation (for example: reviews with private information, spam, or content that violates your store policy).

Moderate reviews (Publish / Unpublish)

Moderation controls whether a review is visible to customers. You can publish reviews you want to display and keep others unpublished.

Go to Rivyo → Reviews → Store Reviews. Find the review you want to manage and open its actions (or click into the review, depending on your layout). Choose Publish to show it publicly or Unpublish to hide it. If you publish a review but don’t see it on your storefront, confirm that the Store Reviews widget is added and saved in your theme, and that you’re viewing the page where the widget is placed.

Reply to a customer review

Replies help you build trust by acknowledging feedback and showing how you handle issues. Replies are especially helpful for neutral/negative reviews.

In Rivyo → Reviews → Store Reviews, locate the review you want to respond to. Click Reply and write a clear, helpful response. Save your reply so it appears with the review (where supported by your storefront display settings). Keep replies specific and actionable. If the issue involves an order, invite the customer to contact support with their order number rather than discussing private details publicly.

Feature testimonials

Featuring a review highlights it as a testimonial so you can showcase your best feedback in marketing areas (for example, a homepage section).

Pick reviews that are specific (mention fast shipping, great support, packaging, etc.) rather than one-word feedback. Use the review’s actions and select Feature (or Mark as testimonial, depending on your UI). Make sure your theme has a testimonials/store reviews section enabled if you want featured reviews to appear in a dedicated area. Featuring a review does not always replace publishing. In most setups, a review should also be Published to be visible on the storefront.

Share a review on social media

Sharing positive store reviews can improve social proof and drive new purchases.

In Rivyo → Reviews → Store Reviews, open the review you want to share. Click Share (or the share option in the review actions). Select the social platform option provided (or copy the share content/link if offered) and publish it to your social account. Share reviews that include specific outcomes (e.g., “arrived in 2 days”, “support solved it in 10 minutes”). Specifics tend to convert better than generic praise.

Delete a store review

Deleting removes a review from your dashboard and storefront displays.

Deleting a review is permanent and cannot be undone. If you might need the review later, consider Unpublish instead of deleting. Go to Rivyo → Reviews → Store Reviews and locate the review. Select Delete from the review actions. Confirm the deletion when prompted.

FAQ

Most commonly, this happens for one of these reasons:

  • The Store Review widget isn’t added to the correct page/template in your theme.
  • The theme changes weren’t saved in the Shopify theme editor.
  • You’re viewing a page that does not include the widget/section where store reviews display.
  • The review is still Unpublished (double-check the status).

It’s usually better to reply and resolve the issue (and keep the review published if it’s legitimate). Shoppers often trust stores more when they see transparent feedback and professional responses.

Consider Unpublish or Delete only for spam, abusive content, or reviews containing private/personal information.

Store reviews are about the overall shopping experience (service, shipping, satisfaction).
Product reviews are tied to specific items and appear on product pages.
