Testimonials Widget

Overview

The Testimonials Widget lets you highlight your best customer reviews in a clean, testimonial-style section on your storefront. Instead of showing reviews in a long list, it features selected reviews in a more polished layout—great for building trust and helping shoppers feel confident before they buy.

Use the Testimonials widget on high-traffic pages like your homepage, collection pages, or your best-selling product pages to maximize impact.

Install the Testimonials widget in your theme

To show testimonials on your storefront, you need to add the widget block to the page in your Shopify theme editor.

In Shopify, go to Online Store → Themes, then click Customize on your current theme.

In the left sidebar, click Add section or select the section where you want testimonials to appear, then click Add block.

From the block list, choose Testimonials Carousel.

Add the Testimonials Carousel to pages where customers are deciding to buy (home page, best-selling product pages, or a featured collection page). One strong testimonial in the right spot can increase confidence quickly.

How the Testimonials widget works

The Testimonials widget shows featured reviews only. If a review isn’t marked as featured, it won’t appear in this widget.

Feature reviews to display in the widget

Go to Rivyo → Reviews → Product Reviews.

Select the review you want to display as a testimonial.

Enable or click the Featured option for that review. Once it’s featured, the review becomes eligible to show in the Testimonials widget (depending on your widget settings and layout).

Product reviews
Store reviews

If you’ve featured reviews but don’t see them on your storefront, confirm the Testimonials Carousel block is added to the correct page/section in your theme, and that the block (or section) isn’t hidden by page-specific settings.

Customize the testimonial section title

You can add a heading above your testimonials to match your store’s tone and layout.

Keep the title short and benefit-focused. Examples: “Loved by Customers”, “Real Reviews”, or “Why Shoppers Trust Us”.

Layout options

Choose a layout based on how many testimonials you want visible at once and how much space you have on the page.

Slider – Shows testimonials one at a time (or in a rotating set), switching automatically or via navigation.
Grid – Displays multiple testimonials at once in a tiled layout.

Many stores use the Slider layout to spotlight one strong testimonial at a time, especially on the homepage.

Customize the design

After adding the Testimonials Carousel block in your theme editor, use the block settings to match your storefront style. Common design settings include:

Card style (spacing, borders, rounded corners)
Text styling (font size and colors for review text, reviewer name, and rating)
Background color (for the section or testimonial cards)
Rating display (show/hide stars if available in your theme/widget settings)
Slider controls (show/hide arrows or dots, autoplay when available)

If your testimonials look different than expected, double-check that you’re editing the correct theme and the correct template (for example, Home page vs Default product template).

Troubleshooting

Make sure you’ve marked at least one review as Featured.
Confirm the Testimonials Carousel block is added to the page you’re viewing.
In the theme editor, verify the section/block is not hidden (visibility settings can vary by theme).

Check whether you’re featuring the correct type of review (product vs store), based on what your widget is set up to display.
Save changes in your theme editor, then refresh the storefront page (hard refresh if needed).

The Testimonials widget displays featured reviews. Review which items are currently marked as Featured and remove the Featured flag from any reviews you don’t want to highlight.
