How to Delete a Review and Restore from Trash

How review deletion works in Rivyo

When you delete a review in Rivyo, it is not removed immediately. It is moved to the Review Trash, where it stays for 30 days. During that time, you can restore it if you change your mind.

After 30 days, reviews in the Trash are permanently deleted and cannot be recovered.

⚠️ Important: Deleted reviews disappear from your store immediately after deletion. However, they remain in the Trash for 30 days and can be restored during that period. After 30 days, they are gone permanently.

How to delete a review

Open Rivyo. Go to your Shopify dashboard, click Apps, and open Rivyo: Reviews & Loyalty.
Click Reviews. In the left sidebar, click Reviews.
Find the review. Locate the review you want to delete in the Product Reviews table.
Click the Actions button. Click the actions button in the Actions column for that review.
Select Delete. Click Delete. Confirm the action if prompted.

The review is removed from your store and moved to the Trash.

How to restore a deleted review

If you deleted a review by mistake, you can restore it within 30 days.

Go to the Reviews page. Open Rivyo and click Reviews.
Click Trash reviews. At the top-right of the Reviews page, click the Trash reviews button. The Review Trash page opens. You can see all recently deleted reviews, along with how many days each one has left before permanent deletion.
Find the review. Use the search bar to filter by customer name or email, or scroll through the list.
Click the Actions button. Click the actions button for the review you want to restore.
Select Restore. Click Restore. The review is moved back to your Reviews list.

The review is now unpublished. You can publish it again from the Reviews page if you want it visible on your store.

How to restore all deleted reviews at once

If you want to restore every review in the Trash at once:

Go to Reviews and click Trash reviews.
Click the Restore All button at the top-right of the Trash page.

All reviews in the Trash are restored to your Reviews list at the same time.

How to permanently delete reviews

If you want to clear the Trash before the 30-day period ends:

Go to Trash reviews. Click the Trash reviews button on the Reviews page.
Click Empty trash. Click the Empty trash button at the top-right.
Confirm the action when prompted. All reviews in the Trash are permanently deleted immediately.

⚠️ Warning: Empty trash is permanent. Reviews deleted this way cannot be recovered. Only click Empty trash if you are certain you no longer need those reviews.

Review Trash table columns

The Trash page shows these columns for each deleted review:

Column	What it shows
Customer	The reviewer's name and email.
Date	When the review was originally submitted.
Rating & review	The star rating and review content.
Status	The review's status before deletion.
Source	How the review was collected.
Days remaining	How many days are left before the review is permanently deleted.
Actions	Options to restore or permanently delete that specific review.
