How Rivyo Collects Reviews
Overview
Rivyo helps you collect product and store reviews from real customers, using both automated and manual request methods. Once the app is installed, you can send review requests after an order is fulfilled/placed, share a direct review link anywhere, collect reviews with QR codes, and optionally reward customers for leaving feedback.
Your customers leave reviews using Rivyo’s review form (rating + written feedback). Depending on your settings, they may also be able to add photos.
Ways Rivyo collects reviews
Rivyo includes several collection options, so you can choose what fits your store and customer journey.
1) Automatic review request emails (post-purchase)
Automatic requests are the “set it once” option. Rivyo emails customers after their order is fulfilled, asking them to review the item(s) they purchased.
When it sends: after fulfillment, based on the delay you set (for example, a few days after delivery).
What customers receive: an email with a button/link that opens the review form for the purchased product(s).
Best for: consistent review collection without manual follow-up.
In your Rivyo admin, go to the Automation (or Email Requests) section.
Enable automatic requests, then set the sending delay (for example, “Send X days after fulfillment”).
Review the email template (logo, colors, text) so it matches your store.
Save changes. Rivyo will begin sending requests to eligible fulfilled orders going forward.
If you sell items with longer delivery times, set a longer delay so customers have time to use the product before reviewing.
2) Manual review requests (send to specific customers)
Manual requests let you send a review request to a specific customer and/or for specific products—useful when you want to follow up personally or resend a request.
Common use cases:
You want a review from a particular customer (for example, VIPs or repeat buyers).
You want to resend a request to someone who missed the first email.
You want to request a review for an order that wasn’t included in automation.
Open the Requests (or Manual Requests) area in Rivyo.
Choose the customer (or enter their email) and select the product(s) you want reviewed.
Send the request email. The customer receives a link to the review form for the selected items.
Manual requests are best used selectively. For ongoing collection, automation is usually the most reliable approach.
3) Shareable review links and QR codes
Review links and QR codes give customers a direct path to the review form—no email automation required. This is especially useful for offline touchpoints and social messaging.
You can share links/QR codes via:
Email newsletters or order follow-ups
SMS and messaging (for example, WhatsApp)
Printed invoices, packing slips, and product inserts
In-store signage or event booths
In Rivyo, open Review Links (or QR Code) and choose the product (or store review, if available).
Copy the shareable link, or download the QR code image for printing.
Add the link to digital channels, or print the QR code on inserts/receipts so customers can scan and review quickly.
Place QR codes where customers naturally pause (packing slip footer, thank-you card, or a small insert). Add a short line like “Scan to leave a review” to increase scans.
4) Review campaigns for past customers (bulk requests)
If you installed Rivyo after you already had sales, campaigns help you catch up by sending a one-time request to customers from past orders.
What it does: sends a review request email to a selected group of previous buyers.
Best for: new Rivyo installs, seasonal resets, or collecting reviews for best-selling products.
Go to Campaigns in your Rivyo admin.
Select the order date range and customers/products you want to include.
Confirm the email template and sending details.
Send immediately or schedule it (if scheduling is available in your plan/settings).
Avoid emailing very old orders where customers may not remember the purchase—this can reduce response rates and increase unsubscribes.
5) Review rewards (incentives for leaving a review)
Rewards encourage more customers to leave reviews by offering a thank-you incentive (for example, a discount coupon) after a review is submitted.
Typical reward: an automatic discount coupon delivered after the customer submits a review.
Best for: increasing review volume and improving response rates.
Open the Rewards section in Rivyo and turn rewards on.
Choose the coupon type/value and any limits (for example, one reward per customer, if available).
Set how customers receive the reward (usually by email after submission).
Save changes and run a quick test (for example, submit a test review) to confirm the reward is sent as expected.
Make your reward message clear: “Thanks for your feedback—here’s X% off your next order.” Simple wording tends to perform best.
Choosing the right method
Use Automatic review request emails. Set an appropriate delay after fulfillment and keep the template on-brand.
Use Manual review requests to target the exact customer and products.
Use Review links and QR codes. They work well outside email and are easy for customers to access on mobile.
Use Review campaigns to send a one-time request to past customers.
Enable Review rewards. Incentives can significantly improve response rates when used responsibly.
