Store Reviews Widget
Overview
The Store Reviews Widget lets you display reviews about your overall store experience—not just reviews for individual products. Store reviews help you showcase customer satisfaction with your brand, support, shipping, and the full shopping journey.
Adding store reviews to key pages can increase trust and reduce buying hesitation by showing real customer feedback where shoppers are deciding to purchase.
What the Store Reviews widget displays
Depending on your settings, the widget can show:
- Average store rating (overall score)
- Total number of store reviews
- Written review content
- Reviewer name (and profile image if available)
- Verified badge (when enabled/available)
- Review date
- Review images (if your store allows photo reviews)
Shoppers can also submit a store review directly from this widget (if the submission option is enabled in your widget settings).
Where the widget can appear
You can place the Store Reviews Widget on:
- A dedicated store reviews page (recommended for SEO and easy sharing)
- Your homepage (to build trust immediately)
- Landing pages (e.g., campaigns, collections, seasonal promotions)
- Any page supported by Shopify app blocks (Online Store 2.0 themes)
Add Store Reviews to your store
Rivyo supports two ways to add the Store Reviews widget.
Method 1: Add using Shopify Theme Editor (Recommended)
This method works with Online Store 2.0 themes and uses Shopify app blocks.
- In your Shopify Admin, go to Online Store → Themes.
- Find your current theme, then click Customize.
In the Theme Editor, use the top dropdown (page selector) to open the template where you want store reviews to appear (for example: Home page, a Page template, or another supported template).
- In the left sidebar, click Add block.
- Select Store Reviews (Rivyo app block).
- Drag the block to the position you want (commonly below your hero section or near trust elements).
- Click Save.
Method 2: Manual installation (for older themes)
If your theme does not support Shopify app blocks (or you’re using a heavily customized/legacy theme), you can add the widget by inserting a small snippet in your theme.
Go to: Rivyo → Reviews → Widget Styling → Store Reviews
Copy this code exactly:
<div id="wc_store_review_page"></div>
Paste the code into the template or section file where you want the widget to appear (for example, a custom page template or page section). Save the file, then preview your store to confirm the widget displays correctly.
Customize the Store Reviews widget
You can control the layout, sorting, and what content shoppers see so the widget matches your store’s design and goals.
In Rivyo, go to Rivyo → Reviews → Widget Styling → Store Reviews.
Update the options you want (examples below), then save your changes.
Check the page where the widget is installed to confirm spacing, readability, and that the widget matches your theme. If needed, return to the widget settings to fine-tune.
Common customization options
- Layout style (list, grid, carousel—depending on your theme/widget version)
- Number of reviews per row (helps control density and readability)
- Number of reviews shown (how many appear before “load more”/pagination, if enabled)
- Sorting (e.g., newest first, highest rating—depending on available options)
- Show/hide reviewer details (name, avatar)
- Show/hide review images
- Show/hide verified badge (if available)
- Colors and typography (to match your theme styling)
Best practices
- Create a dedicated “Store Reviews” page and link it in your header/footer for credibility and easy discovery.
- Place the widget near trust signals (shipping info, guarantees, secure checkout badges).
- Use sorting that fits your brand—“Newest first” keeps the section fresh; “Highest rating” emphasizes reputation.
- Enable review photos (if available) to make reviews feel more authentic and engaging.
Troubleshooting
- Make sure you clicked Save in the Theme Editor.
- Confirm you added the block to the correct template/page (use the top page selector in the editor).
- If you have caching apps or performance tools enabled, try a hard refresh or check in an incognito window.
- Confirm the code is pasted exactly as shown:
<div id="wc_store_review_page"></div> - Make sure the code is placed in a storefront-visible file (not an email template or admin-only file).
- Check that your store has at least one store review available to display.
- Go to Rivyo → Reviews → Widget Styling → Store Reviews and adjust colors/typography/layout.
- Try reducing the number of reviews per row for better spacing on mobile.
- Preview on both desktop and mobile to confirm readability.
