How to Approve or Unpublish a Review
Published vs. unpublished reviews
Every review in Rivyo has a status: Published or Unpublished.
- Published. The review is live on your store. Shoppers can see it on the product page.
- Unpublished. The review is saved in Rivyo but hidden from shoppers. It will not appear on your store until you publish it.
How reviews get their status
When a new review comes in, its status depends on your Auto-Publish settings:
- Auto-Publish is set to All. Every new review is published automatically. You do not need to approve anything manually.
- Auto-Publish is off or conditional. New reviews arrive as unpublished and wait for you to review and approve them.
ℹ️ Note: You can change your Auto-Publish setting at any time. Go to Reviews → Collect Reviews → Publishing and moderation.
How to publish (approve) a review
If a review is unpublished and you want to make it live on your store:
- Go to Reviews. Open Rivyo and click Reviews in the left sidebar.
- Find the review. Locate the review in the Product Reviews table. The Status column will show Unpublished.
- Click the Actions menu. Click the actions button for that review (usually a button or icon in the Actions column).
- Select Publish. Click Publish. The review status changes to Published immediately.
The review is now live on your store.
How to unpublish a review
If you want to hide a published review from your store without deleting it:
- Go to Reviews. Open Rivyo and click Reviews.
- Find the review. Locate the published review in the table.
- Click the Actions menu. Click the actions button for that review.
- Select Unpublish. Click Unpublish. The review status changes to Unpublished immediately.
The review is still saved in Rivyo but no longer visible to shoppers.
How to set up auto-publishing
To avoid approving reviews one by one, you can let Rivyo publish them automatically.
- Click the Collect Reviews tab. On the Reviews page, click Collect Reviews.
- Click Publishing and moderation. Select this option from the cards shown.
- Find Auto-Publish Reviews. In the Auto-Publish Reviews section, use the dropdown to choose your preference.
- Select All to publish every review automatically, or choose a specific star rating threshold if you only want higher-rated reviews to auto-publish.
- Save your settings.
⚠️ Note: Auto-publishing applies to new reviews only. Existing unpublished reviews still need to be approved manually.
