Review Requests
Overview
Review Requests helps you collect product reviews by emailing customers after they buy from your store. Rivyo sends customers a link that opens your review form, where they can rate the product and share written feedback (and any other fields you’ve enabled).
From the Review Requests page, you can automate review emails, send one-off requests, customize email templates, monitor delivery and review status, and run bulk campaigns for past orders.
Where to find Review Requests
What you can do in Review Requests
Review Requests includes five core tools. Use the sections below to choose the right workflow for your goal.
Automatic Review Requests
Automatic requests send review emails to customers without manual work—based on order events such as being placed or fulfilled. This is the most reliable way to collect reviews consistently.
What you can control
- Send timing: how long after the order event the first email is sent.
- Reminders: whether to send follow-up emails if the customer hasn’t submitted a review.
- Recipients: which customers receive requests (for example, exclude certain orders if needed).
- Alerts: when review-related notifications are triggered (based on your app settings).

Manual Review Requests
Manual requests let you send a review email to a specific customer and select the products you want them to review. This is useful when you need to follow up individually or when an order doesn’t fit your usual automation flow.
When to use manual requests
- You want feedback from a particular customer (VIP, wholesale, support case follow-up).
- A customer purchased through a custom flow and didn’t receive an automatic request.
- You want to resend a request to the same customer.
Email Templates
Email Templates control what customers see when Rivyo emails them. A clear subject line, friendly message, and a strong call-to-action can significantly improve review submission rates.
Templates you can customize
- Primary review request email: the first message customers receive.
- Reminder email(s): follow-ups sent when no review has been submitted yet.
Review Email Activity
Review Email Activity helps you understand what happened after you sent review requests—so you can spot delivery problems, confirm coverage, and resend when appropriate.
What you can track
- Sent emails: which review request messages were sent and when.
- Order coverage: which orders received a request.
- Review status: whether a review was submitted after the email was sent.
- Resends: resend review emails when needed (for example, customer says they didn’t see it).
Review Campaigns (Past Orders)
Review Campaigns let you send review requests in bulk to customers who purchased in the past. This is especially useful right after installing Rivyo—so you can start collecting reviews from recent buyers immediately, not just new orders going forward.
What you can do with campaigns
- Select a date range of past orders.
- Send review requests in bulk to eligible customers.
- Collect reviews for older purchases to build social proof quickly.
30 or 90 days).
Best practices for higher review rates
- Time it right: send after delivery/usage time (often 7–14 days depending on your products).
- Use one reminder: a single follow-up commonly boosts responses without feeling spammy.
- Keep templates simple: one clear call-to-action, minimal distractions.
- Segment thoughtfully: use campaigns for recent buyers first to maximize relevance.
- Watch Activity: if reviews are low, adjust timing and template messaging before increasing volume.
FAQ
Common reasons include:
- The order didn’t meet your automatic request rules (trigger, timing, or recipient conditions).
- The email was sent but the customer didn’t notice it (check Review Email Activity and resend if appropriate).
- The campaign/date range didn’t include that order.
Start by confirming the order appears in Review Email Activity. If it doesn’t, use a Manual Review Request.
Most stores get better results after fulfillment (or after delivery, if your workflow supports it) because customers have had time to use the product. Sending right after order placement can reduce response quality and increase “I haven’t received it yet” replies.
Yes. Use Review Email Activity to find the original request and resend when needed, or send a Manual Review Request if you’re targeting a specific product or scenario.
