Social Sharing for Reviews
Overview
Social Sharing lets shoppers share individual reviews from your store to popular channels—turning real customer feedback into social proof that can bring new visitors back to your products.
When enabled, customers can share reviews using:
Facebook
X (Twitter)
WhatsApp
Email
Social Sharing only appears on your storefront after you (1) add/enable platforms in Settings → Social Share and (2) turn on Social Sharing inside the widget(s) where you want it to show.

How Social Sharing works
You add the social platforms you want to offer in Settings → Social Share.
You enable the platforms you want to show to customers.
You enable Social Sharing in the widget customization settings for the widget(s) on your store.
Customers see social icons next to reviews on your storefront.
When a customer clicks an icon, a share window opens for that platform with a pre-filled share link.
Keep your share options focused. Fewer, more relevant platforms usually leads to more clicks than showing every possible option.
Add social media platforms
Add the platforms where customers will be able to share reviews. You can create your own list (for example, add WhatsApp and Email, and remove platforms you don’t use).
Go to Rivyo → Reviews → Widget Stlying, then open General Settings and select the Social Share tab.
Click Add Social Share.
Platform Name: Enter the display name customers will recognize (example:
Facebook,X,WhatsApp).Platform Link: Paste the platform’s share URL (the link Rivyo uses to open the share dialog).
Platform Icon (SVG): Paste the SVG code for the icon that appears next to each review.
Click Add to save the platform.
Use SVG icons from trusted sources only. Pasting untrusted code into an SVG field can create security and display issues.
Enable or disable social platforms
Each platform you add has a status toggle. This controls whether the platform appears as a sharing option on your storefront.
Enable: Customers can use this platform to share reviews.
Disable: The platform is hidden and will not appear in any widget.
Disabling a platform does not delete it—you can re-enable it anytime.
Maximum platforms allowed
You can add up to 5 social media platforms for social sharing.
This limit keeps the review UI clean and prevents the share area from taking over the review layout on smaller screens.
Enable Social Sharing in review widgets
Adding platforms in Settings → Social Share does not automatically show them on your storefront. You must also enable Social Sharing inside the widget(s) where you want the icons to appear.
Go to Rivyo → Reviews and open the widget customization area for the widget you use on your store (for example, Product Review Widget).
Find the Social Sharing option in the widget settings and set it to Enabled.
Save your changes. Then refresh your storefront page to confirm the share icons appear next to reviews.
If you use multiple widgets (for example, a Product Review Widget on product pages and an All Product Reviews Widget on a reviews page), enable Social Sharing in each widget separately.
What customers see on your store
Share icons appear alongside reviews (based on your widget layout).
Only the platforms you enabled are shown.
Clicking an icon opens that platform’s sharing flow (for example, a new window/tab or the user’s email app).
Troubleshooting
Confirm the platform is Enabled in Settings → Social Share.
Confirm Social Sharing is enabled in the specific widget you’re using (Product Review / All Reviews / Store Reviews).
Refresh your storefront and clear any caching (theme/app caches can delay visual changes).
Check the Platform Link you entered. An incorrect share URL can prevent the share dialog from opening.
Try in an incognito/private browser window to rule out extension pop-up blockers.
If the platform opens in a new window/tab, confirm the browser is not blocking pop-ups for your domain.
Replace the SVG with a clean, single-color SVG (simple paths tend to render best in widgets).
Avoid SVGs with embedded images or heavy filters—these may not scale well.
Social Sharing is designed to be fast and easy for shoppers. Too many share buttons can clutter the review layout, especially on mobile. Pick the 3–5 channels your customers use most.
Best practices
Start with your top channels: Most stores see the best results with 2–4 highly relevant platforms.
Use recognizable names and icons: Customers are more likely to share when options are instantly familiar.
Check mobile display: Review pages are often browsed on mobile—confirm icons don’t wrap awkwardly.
Enable sharing where it matters: Product pages and “All Reviews” pages are usually the highest-impact locations.
