Customize Review Reward Email Template

Overview

When a customer submits a review and qualifies for a reward, Rivyo automatically emails them a discount coupon. You can customize this reward email so it matches your brand—colors, images, layout, and wording—while keeping the coupon easy to find and copy.

What you can customize

  • Email colors and styling
  • Coupon display (card, background, border, and text colors)
  • Header and footer images (with optional click-through links)
  • Email subject and message content
  • Additional store links (for example, Shop Now / Contact Us)
The Reward Email Template controls the email sent for review rewards. It won’t change other Rivyo emails (like review requests) unless you edit those templates separately.

Open the Reward Email Template

In your Shopify admin, open Rivyo, then navigate to:
Reviews → Collect → Review Rewards → Reward Email Template
Use the editor on the left to make changes. The preview panel on the right shows how the email will look to customers.
Make one change at a time and check the preview after each update. This makes it easier to spot what caused a layout or color issue.

Email Template Settings

The email template editor lets you customize both design (colors, spacing, images) and content (subject line and message text). Your changes apply to future reward emails sent after you save.

Customize the coupon code design

The coupon area is the most important part of the email. Use these settings to make the code stand out and remain readable on both desktop and mobile.

  • Email Background Color – Sets the background color for the entire email.
  • Card Background Color – Sets the background color of the coupon card (the section that contains the reward code).
  • Font Colors – Controls text color throughout the email:
    • Primary Font Color – Main headings and key text
    • Secondary Font Color – Supporting text (descriptions, smaller details)
  • Coupon Background Color – Changes the background color of the coupon display box.
  • Coupon Text Color – Sets the text color of the coupon code.
  • Coupon Code Border Color – Sets the border color around the coupon code section.
Avoid low-contrast combinations (for example, light gray text on a white background). If the coupon code is hard to read, customers are more likely to abandon the purchase.

Adjust content layout (spacing)

Use line-height settings to improve readability—especially on mobile screens.

  • Body Content Line Height – Adjusts spacing between lines in the main message text.
  • Coupon Description Line Height – Adjusts spacing for the coupon description text near the code.
If your message looks “crowded,” increase line height slightly. If the email becomes too long, reduce line height and shorten the message text.

Customize the email header

Add a branded header image (for example, a banner, logo, or seasonal promo). You can also make the image clickable.

Upload a header image

Turn on Header Override Default to replace the default header with your own. Click Upload an image and select your file. Adjust the width and height settings so the banner displays cleanly in the preview.

Header image requirements

  • Recommended size: 560px × 292px
  • Supported formats: JPG, PNG, WEBP

(Optional) Add a header click link

If your template includes a header redirect/link field, you can paste a URL so customers are taken to a page when they click the header image (for example, your homepage or a featured collection).

If you add a link, make sure it goes to a page customers can access without logging in.

Customize the email content (subject & message)

The subject line helps customers recognize the email, and the message text explains what the reward is and how to use it.

Email subject

Edit Email Subject to match your brand voice and make the reward clear.

  • Keep it short so it doesn’t get cut off on mobile.
  • Make the reward obvious (for example, “Your discount code is inside”).
  • Avoid excessive punctuation or ALL CAPS, which can reduce trust.

Email body text

Update the main message so customers know:

  • They successfully submitted a review
  • They earned a reward
  • How to use the coupon at checkout
A strong structure is: Thank youHere’s your rewardHow to use itShop now.

Add additional links (recommended)

If your template settings allow additional links, include 1–3 helpful destinations so customers can act immediately.

  • Shop Now (homepage or a best-sellers collection)
  • Contact Us (support page)
  • Track Order (if you offer tracking)
Too many links can distract customers from using the coupon. Keep the focus on the reward and checkout.

Preview and finalize

Check the right-side preview for spacing, readability, and whether the coupon section stands out. Confirm the subject line reads well, the coupon code is easy to spot, and text colors are readable against the background. Save the template so the updated design is used for future reward emails. Changes typically apply to emails sent after you save. Emails already sent to customers won’t be updated retroactively.

FAQ

Blurry headers are usually caused by uploading an image that’s smaller than the display size. Use the recommended dimensions (560px × 292px) and avoid stretching the image larger than its original size.

Check contrast between these settings: Coupon Background Color, Coupon Text Color, and Coupon Code Border Color. Use a darker text color on a light background (or vice versa) and confirm in the preview.

Yes. Start by matching your store’s primary brand color using Email Background, Card Background, and Primary Font Color. Then add a header image with your logo or banner for instant brand recognition.

Include a short thank-you, a clear statement that the reward was earned, how to use the code at checkout, and (optionally) a “Shop now” link. Keep the coupon section visually prominent.
